the fly traps work great I live in the county and I hate fly''s I have used them for many years if you have not used them before I have three tips they smell very bad after about a week, and I leave them up about 3 to 4 weeks as they work better and better as the stink gets worse and trust me they do fill with fly''s, and smell is bad enough to make you puke so tip 1. put them away from were people doors or windows are. Tip 2 when you change them do it when its cool out they don''t smell as bad, and tip 3 use bailing wire when hanging I looped wire through the eye on the top of trap the other as an eye for the hook put tape on both the ends of the wires so they wont poke or tear the trash bags you need to use to remove traps to the trash. ( I use small office type trash bags work best for me ) You want to make sure the fly traps are easy to remove I use hooks that hold the bags away at least an inch from a wall or post this way you can slid the trash bag over the trap wile its hanging. ( you don''t want to shake or move the traps if possible ) Then seal the traps in the trash bags with tape around the top half of the bailing wire still sticking out the top of the now sealed trash bag then its easy to take the trap off the hook and to the trash, this keeps the stink and grossness way down .

WOW! These things work! Don''t ask me how because I don''t think there is any poison involved. Rather there is some sort of powder attractive to flies, to which you add water. And then the flies simply SWARM to this thing, crawl in, can''t crawl out and drown, they''re so stupid. And boy oh boy are they ever attracted to this thing. In less than ten days I had a bag completely filled to the brim with dead flies. Very satisfying because even on a day when you think ''I really didn''t accomplish much today'' you actually did because you decreased the amount of vermin able to reproduce in the world. Plus, as a bonus, since the bag is clear, you get a very satisfying view of them struggling over the corpses of their fellow vermin until they die. The bag advertises that it can attract and hold 20,000 flies, and I don''t doubt it at all, although I replaced the bag at probably the 10,000 mark.

If you’re in doubt, RESCUE Non-Toxic Disposable Fly Trap works!!! Take a look at my short clip video! Don’t be fooled by the first few days. At first it looks like it’s not working, but it does. You have to give it time to work and some people overlook this important detail. You can see the proof for yourself...it really does work! Give it time. WARNING, BEWARE: it stinks really bad...like really bad rotten food but it’s worth it to catch as many flies as it’s done this far and it’s not even filled all the way!
SIDE NOTE: You have to provide your own device to hang it up. I used craft loop made of T-shirt scraps...holding up pretty good!

This fly trap works! I told my spouse to buy this fly trap, as I have previously used them before. Unfortunately, my spouse came back with a refillable plastic jug from a local store that was suppose to trap flies in it ( this other fly trap claimed to be reusable). I was not happy about that and said the rescue fly traps are the only ones that work, as I have previously tried other fly trap products and discovered rescue fly traps were the best ones. Thus, I then went online and ordered this product from Amazon. we have now changed out the rescue fly traps six times already and the other product in the reusable jugs still only have a few flies in them! In start contrast, the rescue fly traps have hundreds if not thousands of flies in them. Buy this product and don''t waste your money on other fly trap products. If you have a fly problem, soon you won''t with this product.

Caveat: Remember this product is an attractant so flies will flock to it. Thus, do not hang it close to your house or front door as flies will literally be buzzing around trying to get inside this death trap. If you hang it too close to your front door, the smell is bad and you''ll regret having that trap hanging that close to your front door. Furthermore, some of the flies might enter your home when you open your door because there will be so many of the flies trying to enter the trap that some will fly in your door when it''s opened.

It''s amazing that I typically don''t see flies around the house - until I sit on the patio to eat (which I love to do). Then the patio instantly starts swarming with them...

That''s why we started using these fly traps a couple of years ago.

These work great, as other reviews mention, but you have to be careful of where they''re placed for maximum effectiveness.

Here are some placement tips that have worked for us:

    1) They work better in the shade. I''m not sure why, but flies aren''t as attracted to them once the sun shines directly on them.

    2) Don''t put them right by the door - or in the area you plan to be sitting in. About 20 feet away seems ideal to keep the smell down and the flies away.

    3) Don''t put them right by the outdoor trash cans. It seems like that would work well, but the trash cans are too tempting of a target. Once again, they work better if they''re 15-20 feet away from the trash.

These work great, and our patio is fly-free now when I''m enjoying a quick lunch out there. We subscribed to them on Amazon so we automatically get 2 new fly traps every month, and they''re always full when we throw the old ones away.

I''m always amazed at how many flies actually get captured (especially small ones). There are obviously more flies outside than I ever knew...

If you''re looking for a great way to keep flies away from your house - I don''t think there are any better or easier solutions than these fly traps.

The Rescue FTD Non-Toxic Disposable Fly Trap is great for attracting flies and keeping them away from your house. You have to pour water in and mix it with the included powder to activate the chemical fly lure, which smells pretty rank. Note: the odor is NOT pleasant. The flies love this stuff, though, and will be drawn to it rather than your BBQ or deck. Just make sure to place it a good 75+ feet from your house, though, because as the flies enter it, die and rot, the smell becomes unspeakable. When it comes time to take it down and throw it out, make sure you have latex gloves, multiple plastic bags, a protective suit, and Vics Vapor Rub for under your nose. It really does work and it will draw the flies away from your house all summer.

Do NOT do what I did. We have a few more flies outside than in past years and they seem to like my outside cat''s food. So I needed something to reduce the local fly population. I looked in an Amazon search and this one came up tops. So I ordered it. So far so good. The trouble started when it arrived. It was in a box alone. It appeared to be a plastic bag containing my trap. So, I cut the bag and looked inside for the trap. HAHA! Here''s a tip. There is no packaging. The bag is the trap. No packaging whatsoever. So I was left with my new trap with the bottom cut out. Here''s where things got really worse. I tried to find a long bread clamp or something to fold up the bag and seal it but there was nothing I could use because apparently after the kids ate ALL the chips, they consumed the clamps too due to sheer adolescent hunger. So I did the next best thing. I used a lighter to heat seal the bottom of the bag back together. It appeared to work and now I needed to test the watertightedness of the seal. So, I thought now may be a good time to read the directions, which I did. It said to cut the top circle marked on the package and extend the cap. Then add water to the fill line and within 2 to 5 hours the bait sack would dissolve. Ok, sounds straightforward. I added a bit of water to check my seal. NOPE. There was a little leak in one part where I did a less than adequate job. Now I needed to get the water out to try and reseal that part. Thinking I still had the 2 to 5 hours before the bait bag dissolved, I tried to pour the excess water out into the sink. Here''s where my wife noticed. So the bait bag dissolved IMMEDIATELY. The fly bait came out a bit with the water and boy it was awful. It smelled like sauteed garbage in August. From the other room, my wife says, "What is that smell? Is it the shrimp? I think that''s bad honey." This was fractions of a second after the bait spill occurred. I tried to wash it down the sink but the smell was more powerful than Sauron''s one ring. Holy Moley. I managed to wash it down with loads of soap and lots of water. Still wanting to salvage my fly catcher. I grabbed some binder clips to secure the leak in the bottom. This seemed to work and I took it outside to hang and kill all the flies. I hung it up off the garage gutter so it was suspended. And went back where I washed my hands about 12 times. In the mean time my son, daughter, and some others had gathered in the kitchen wondering what in the hell that smell was and hoping it had nothing to do with dinner. They were all eyeing their dad suspiciously as if I had done something wrong. I tried to explain. They laughed quite a bit. And I was hoping the worst had passed. Well, about 20 minutes later, I went outside to check my device''s progress on the fly situation. Apparently the bag clips did not work. There was a small drip. which had started a small puddle below which was attracting quite a few flies. At this point, I decided to cut my losses and dispose of the bag and trap. I used some medical gloves to take it down and placed inside two ziplock freezer bags. and took it to the trash. I want to say that was the end but I see the bag swelling and looking like it will eventually explode. If that happens, I will have every fly in my entire zipcode coming to my house. So I put it inside another trash bag and sealed that too. I''m hoping it doesn''t explode. Hopefully the trash guys will arrive to take it away before I unintentionally host fly Coachella 2019. In closing, I''m really not sure if this product works or not on account of operator error and My being a moron. Maybe some additional packaging would have been helpful. What I can say is the attractant TRULY works great. It smells awful so if you put this close to your house, you are gonna get some unwelcome questions. I hope you have better luck than I did. The worst part of all this was the look of disappointment on my cat''s face as she watched me clean up my experiment.

Incredibly effective on full-size houseflies. I had an unusual explosion of large flies in my carport last summer and this thing was like a magic vacuum that sucked them all up. We also have an issue with a swarm of smaller flies that shows up every summer and for some weird reason they totally ignored this one (I catch them with the ribbon-style traps). But for the normal, full-size houseflies, this trap is amazing.

Warning: the video is super gross but it demonstrates how effective it is.

Initially I placed it away from the house and as their was a slight wind I thought it would be a test as to how bad the smell is. Don’t be afraid there is a slight smell which if inhaled isn’t that pleasant but it’s so good at trapping those pesky flies I don’t care. I’ll definitely be ordering more. Great product.

When it dries up or is full I''ll buy this again! Edit: I paid 16.99 for this and now the price is up to over $25 each. They can be bought at home depot for $6.00 I guess I''ll be buying from there.

First, the shipping was so fast!! I ordered a Saturday afternoon and received it at my door on Monday afternoon!! The product had clear instructions on it which were easy to follow. I hung the bag on the lamp right outside my patio door since the deer flies were the worst around my deck area. We built my deck for a week, and hundreds of deer flies kept ''''attacking'''' us and they sting which actually hurts and is really annoying! My legs are covered in bites! So that''s why I purchased this product. The first day, there was only about 5 deer flies in the bag and they were still being annoying and stinging us, but the next day..... WOW!! The bag got fuller by the day, and were now Friday, and I would say there''s at least 50-75 deer flies in there!!!! It''s crazy!!! They haven''t been bugging be in the mornings when I''m home, or in the evenings, but this weekend I''ll try going outside in the afternoon (which is when they were the most annoying!) so I''m reaslly excited to see if there''s a difference! With 75 flies in the trap, I think it''s safe to assume there won''t be as much flying around when I''m sitting on my deck! The only thing is that it does stink, it kind of smells like fish or seafood, but if there''s wind where you hang it, it should help. However it''s totally worth it! I''d rather smell a light fish scent when walking out the door (and then it doesn''t smell when I''m sitting on my deck), than getting dozens of deer flies bites everyday!!
